My name is Kasheka and I like to wear a lot of hats. With an undergraduate background in business, sociology, and information systems I’ve gained extensive professional experience throughout the years in both the public and private consulting fields. During this time, I’ve also nurtured a love for creative pursuits. I’ve been a photographer, a graphic designer, and an illustrator. Like I said, lots of hats. Next, I may take up woodworking so I have a rack for all of them.
In my graduate education, I’ve aimed to intersect my career journey, creativity, and passion for the planning and design of the built environment. With a Master of Urban Planning and Policy, specializing in Urban Design, I’ve gained hands-on experience in the skills it takes to empower and sustain communities.
My vision of thriving communities includes spaces that inspire playfulness, holistic wellbeing, climate resilience, and connection. I believe a key indicator of community health is the ability to participate in play, at any age. Leveraging my skills in creative decision-making, graphic design, geospatial visualization, and critical analysis to bring this life, I am in pursuit of a life that empowers me to leave places better than when I came
I'm open to a variety of work including urban planning, community engagement, photography, graphic design, and other creative pursuits. I especially enjoy collaborating with people in the arts, planning, and nonprofit sectors, and have a particular love for working with musicians and bands on visual projects. Whether it’s a design challenge or a community-driven effort, I’m always up for trying on a new hat. Whether you have a project in mind or just want to explore ideas together, I'd love to chat!
